Anđelka Isaković, doc. dr
Institute of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry, School of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, SerbiaAnđelka Isaković was born in 1985 in Loznica. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2010, and in the same year enrolled in doctoral studies, specializing in Molecular Medicine, which she defended in 2018. Since January 2011, she has been employed at the Institute of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry as a research trainee. She completed her medical specialization in Laboratory Medicine in 2020.
She was elected Assistant Professor in 2021.
She was a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Medicinski podmladak from 2017 to 2022. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Committee for Online Teaching, and since 2022, a member of the Committee for Test Evaluation and Improvement at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She serves as the secretary of the Program Council of the Molecular Medicine module within doctoral academic studies. She is the course coordinator of the elective subject Biochemical Characteristics of Specific Tissues.
She has mentored 24 student research papers presented at national and international congresses, six graduate theses at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, two specialization papers, and one final paper at specialist academic studies at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. She was awarded the Annual Award of the Faculty of Medicine for Teaching Improvement in 2020.
She has attended numerous courses and trainings related to the accreditation of testing laboratories and medical laboratories in accordance with SRPS ISO/IEC 17025 and SRPS EN ISO 15189 standards. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Isaković worked as a professional consultant at the medical laboratory of the Institute for Biocides and Medical Ecology in Belgrade, specializing in PCR diagnostics of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Her main research focus is in the field of basic tumor biology and mechanisms of cell death, as well as the discovery of new potential biomarkers of various malignant diseases. She is the co-author of 18 papers published in full in international journals from the JCR list, with over 250 citations, as well as more than 60 abstracts presented at national and international congresses.
