Born on April 28, 1976, in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade in 2000 with an average grade of 9.51. She completed her specialization in Immunology in 2005 at the same faculty, passing the final specialist exam with excellent results. Since 2009, she has been enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica, and in 2013, she was approved to conduct research on the topic: “Correlation of systemic immune response parameters with disease activity and bone metabolism mediators in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).”
She began her professional career as a medical intern at the Health Centre in Podgorica and later worked as a clinical physician at the Institute for Children’s Diseases within the Clinical Centre of Montenegro. Since 2005, she has been employed as an immunologist at the Centre for Medical Genetics and Immunology of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, where, since 2006, she has held the position of Head of the Immunology Department within the Centre for Genomic Medicine and Immunology.
In addition to her clinical work, she has been involved in teaching at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Montenegro, where she has been participating in practical immunology classes since 2006. Since 2013, she has also served as a mentor for the specialist education of medical biochemistry and immunology residents.
She is actively engaged as a lecturer at numerous national and international symposiums and educational programs. She was part of the educational team of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro and UNICEF for the training of healthcare professionals in the field of immunization (2022–2023), as well as a lecturer at scientific events dedicated to HPV immunization, rheumatology, and pharmacy. She has participated in many international congresses and professional gatherings, including ESID 2024, Autoimmunity Seminar 2022, Dresden Symposium on Autoantibodies, EULAR 2009, and several European and regional conferences focused on immunology, autoimmune, and rheumatological diseases.
She is one of the founders and has served as the Secretary of the Immunological Society of Montenegro (DICG) since 2013. The society is a member of the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) and the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS). Since April 2020, she has been a member of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) of Montenegro.
Through her extensive clinical, scientific, and educational engagement, she has made a significant contribution to the development of immunology, the promotion of immunization, and the improvement of healthcare in Montenegro.
