Sanja Medenica, doc. dr

Sanja Medenica graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade in 2009. She completed her specialization in Internal Medicine in 2019, as well as a subspecialization in Endocrinology in 2022 at the same institution. She also completed postgraduate specialist academic studies and doctoral studies in Endocrinology at the same faculty, earning the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences.

She served as a teaching assistant in the subjects Histology with Embryology and Internal Medicine, and in 2022, she was appointed Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro.

Since 2012, she has been employed at the Department of Endocrinology of the Internal Medicine Clinic at the Clinical Center of Montenegro.

Since 2018, she has been the EYES (European Young Endocrine Scientists) Ambassador for Montenegro. As the top-ranked awardee in the EYES Clinical Observership Programme, in 2022 she attended a one-month training program at Policlinico Universitario Gemelli in Rome under the mentorship of Prof. Alfredo Pontecorvi.

She has participated in numerous educational programs both nationally and internationally. She has been a participant, invited speaker, and moderator at numerous domestic and international symposiums, seminars, and congresses. She has published a significant number of scientific papers in reputable medical journals and presented research findings at both national and international events in the form of posters and oral presentations. She is a peer reviewer for esteemed journals indexed in international databases.

She has organized several national congresses and symposiums with international participation. She was the deputy president and is now an honorary member of the Global Regenerative Academy, as well as the president of the 5th Global Congress of Regenerative Medicine held in Budva in September 2024.

She is a trusted physician of the Italian Embassy in Montenegro.

Currently, she serves as the Secretary of the Association of Endocrinologists of Montenegro. She is also a member of several national and international professional organizations, including: the Medical Chamber of Montenegro, the Montenegrin Association for Menopause and Involutional Hypoandrogenism (CAMA), the European Society of Endocrinology, ESE Young Endocrinologists & Scientists, the Serbian Thyroid Society, the European Thyroid Association, Associazione Medici Endocrinologi, and ENS@T – as a member of the working group of the European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumors.
