Damir Muhović completed his undergraduate medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro, and pursued a specialization in internal medicine as well as a subspecialization in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade.
Since 2019, he has been enrolled in doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Kragujevac.
He serves as the national coordinator for Montenegro for the European Registry on Helicobacter pylori infection, General Secretary of the Montenegrin Association of Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists, a member of the Ministry of Health’s Commission for the Drug List of Montenegro, the Board of Directors of the Health Center of the Capital City Podgorica, as well as a member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), United European Gastroenterology (UEG), and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).
He is a consultant subspecialist in gastroenterology and hepatology for the General Hospital in Bijelo Polje and the Clinical Center in Berane, and also serves as a teaching associate in the subject of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro.
Dr. Muhović is the author and co-author of 14 papers published in journals indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI).
He is a reviewer in the field of gastroenterology for the following journals: Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology, Artificial Intelligence in Gastroenterology, World Journal of Gastroenterology, World Journal of Clinical Cases, Annals of Medicine, and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
He has participated in numerous national and international scientific projects and research studies.
